I'm really stuck at the question of duties and It's driving me crazy trying to find out! Someone help me and show me what to do? The question is – "You are the design of exercise equipment to operate as shown in figure (Intro 1 figure), where a person drives up to a bungee cord. The string behaves like an ideal spring and unstretched length of 33 years. If you want the torque around the elbow joint of 91 in the position shown, what constant force is required for the cord? "I can not get January 1 pic up but the figure shows a forearm of people pulling on what looks like a little rubber band that is attached to the leg of the table, the arm is pressed. Arm persons is 38cm long and is at an angle of 39 degrees horizontally and elastic streatched to a length of 44cm and is 61 degrees horizontally. Thank you for any help you can give me x

Always include units at each step of a calculation, it eliminates errors.) Now we must find the component of the force that is in the direction of elastic. The force is 39 degrees horizontally and the elastic is 61 degrees horizontally (across from vertical). Thus the angle between them is 180 degrees – 39 degrees – 61 degrees angle = 80 ° However, the component of force in the direction of the elastic is as follows: (We will call F (e) of force on the elastic and F (h) of force on the hand) F (e) = F (h) * cos 80 degrees F (e) = 249.5 N * cos 80 degrees F (e) = 41.6 N The taut string 11 cm (0.11 m) So, the "constant force" on the string would be: K = 41.6 N / (0.11 m) K = 378 2 N / m (or 3.782 N / cm) I hope this helped you Good Luck Laurenzo
